Error "NTLDR is missing" on Windows ways to fix - On a beautiful day you turn on yourbeloved computer after entering the system, you see the error message " NTLDR Is missing. You can use the "NTLDR is missing" feature on Windows from the latest Hiren's Boot disk. First you need to go to the address below to download the Hiren's Boot to your computer

You pull down the bottom then you click on Hirens.BootCD.15.2.zip file ( currently the latest version is 15.2) to download.

After downloading you need to extract this file

After unzipping you will have a file called Hiren's.BootCD.15.2.iso > You need to proceed to burn this file to CD.

Once burned, use the newly recorded CD to run the Boot CD program to fix the problem. To boot from the CD you need to reconfigure your computer to boot from the CD by




First you start the computer and press the DELETE key (usually) to enter the BIOS. Then you set the BIOS for the boot computer from the CD drive.


Restart the computer and insert the Hiren's Boot disk into the CD drive


When the "Hiren's BootCD" menu appears on the screen, use the arrow keys to move and select "Fix 'NTLDR is Missing'" and press "ENTER" .

The new interface appears. Select "1ST TRUE THIS seleccione esto primero" and press "Enter" .

You wait a moment and then get Hiren's Boot disk and restart the computer. If the  "NTLDR is missing" error occurs, you proceed to discard Hiren's Boot and then perform the above operation but in the last operation you do not select 1ST anymore (Which you can choose: 2ND, 3RD ...) . Just do it until you fix the error.



Method 2: Use Windows XP MINI to fix the problem



First you need to download the file provided under the link below

When you download the file then you unzip it you will see three files named as:  file "Ntldr", "Ntdetect.com" & "Boot.ini" of Windows XP you copy these 3 files into the USB . Then you put the Hiren's Boot disk into the drive and proceed to select "Mini Windows Xp" on the first screen of the boot.

After the "Mini Windows XP" boot up, you proceed to mount the USB containing the file ("Ntldr", "Ntdetect.com" & "Boot.ini") .


Continue to copy 3 files (Ntldr, Ntdetect.com & Boot.ini) from USB and then to drive C and paste. If there is a message, you just select YES to overwrite the old data. When the paste is done then you remove the USB and Hiren's Boot disk from the computer and reboot to enjoy the results if you are lucky you will fix the "NTLDR is missing" error on Windows.



Method 3: Use the Repair feature of windows


With this method you need a Windows disk, after the disk you remember to enter the BIOS to adjust Boot mode from the CD / DVD. First you insert the Windows disk into the drive, when the Windows Setup screen appears, you press the "R" key to start the "Recovery Console" .

On the Recovery console screen press the number key "1" and press "Enter" .

Then type in the word "map" and press "Enter". The drives appear below and you will find the CDROM drive containing the installation CD  (eg "E: \") .

Next you need to copy the "ntldr" and "ntdetect.com" files from your windows installation disk (ie, drive E) to your C drive. Use the following two commands to proceed with Copy.




If the system prompts you if you want to overwrite the files, do not forget to select YES. Then you type "EXIT" and press "Enter" to exit> and restart the computer to enjoy the results.
