Scan Documents in Notes App in iOS 11 on iPhone and iPad

Notes app for iOS had never been so feature-rich before. Thanks to the influx of many superior features, it's now fully primed to make your note-taking task a delightful experience. Case in point, you can now scan documents right in your Notes app in iOS 11 on your iPhone and iPad.

The process of scanning a paper in iOS 11 Notes is as straightforward as it can ever get. The app auto-detects all the edges and snaps a perfect-looking shot the moment you point your device camera at the paper. Another important thing worth mentioning upfront is that you also have the option to adjust the scanned document as desired. Enough talk, let's get to know how it works!

 

How to Scan Paper in Notes App on iOS 11 on iPhone and iPad


Step #1. Launch Notes app on your iOS device.

Step #2. Next, you need to create a new note or try out the process with an already existing note.

In this test, I'm going to create a new note. Tap on the pencil button at the bottom right corner to create a new note as usual → Next, tap on the “+” button.

Step #4. Select Scan Documents. (Make sure to get the paper ready, which you want to scan.)

Step #5. When the scanner view opens, you need to point the camera on the paper. Next, the Notes will perfectly get the job done by automatically detecting the edges of the paper and capturing the photo.



 

Note: Just in case, you are not quite pleased with the scan, you can tap on the Retake and manually scan the paper.

You also have the option to manually adjust the scan if the edge detection didn't get it right as desired. To do so, simply use your fingers (or Apple Pencil) to adjust the edges.

Notes: Follow all the steps mentioned above and then start with this process.

Step #1. Once you are happy with the result, Tap on Save at the bottom right.

Step #3. Next up, give the name to the scanned paper, to do so, open the scanned file, tap on the name.

Step #4. Finally, tap on Done at the top right.
